Day of "Chek Hou" means that anybody is ready to get into a quarrel with
someone else. It sounds strange to have this happen during the happy and wonderful fesitval.
After a couple
busy days, some people prefer to stay at home to relax and avoid to get into the quarrel with someone else. Some are
still very active with friends and families.
Throughout all these years, the only time that we got in a "quarrel"
(I would say that it was just a minor disagreement) when I was in my early 20s. My younger sister and I had a gathering
with our friends in an American-Italian restaurant in Hong Kong. Since most restaurants were still closed back at that
time, that place was packed with people. They were short of staff that the service was not as good as usual. So,
we ended up doing what this day was supposed to be.
But at the end, we all had wonderful time getting together.
For most people, they are ready to get back to work the next day.
