"Ha Pei" (the Chinese pronounciation of the wedding dress in the past) is an
embroided scarf or cape for a woman of noble rank in ancient times.
The Chinese wedding gown is very popular in
the Guangdong province. But there is no way to trace back when it started. It was known that it originated about
1950s and 1960s which is very similar to the "Ha Pei" in the past.

There is a legend floating around.
A few hundred years ago, a Guangdong official
loved and cared a lot of the prince. When his daughter married, the prince became the emperor already. In the
memory of the love of his official, the emperor gave a Chinese wedding dress embroided with dragon and phoenix to the official's
daughter.
From then on, this kind of Chinese wedding dress became the tradition.
